Add a Legacy Contact
This is a topic most people don’t like to talk about, but… Do your family and friends a favor, and designate a legacy contact. Nothing will hurt people like seeing birthday notifications and whatever else from their loved ones after they pass away.
You can select any of your friends, or you can set your account to be deactivated or deleted upon your departure. This normally will require someone sending in proof like a death certificate.
From Facebook’s description: A legacy contact is someone you choose to manage your account after you pass away. They’ll be able to do things like pin a post on your timeline, respond to new friend requests and update your profile picture. They won’t post as you or see your messages.
To add a legacy contact: Go to Settings -> General and select Manage account on the right side.
