How to create a post
You can create a post on Facebook using either the Facebook website or the Facebook mobile app.
Facebook website
- Log in to the Facebook website at https://www.facebook.com.
- Near the top of the page, look for the words “What’s on your mind?” in a text box and click inside of it.
- A Create Post window will open. Type your post in the window where you see the grey colored “What’s on your mind?” words.
- To create the post on your Facebook page, click the blue Share button at the bottom of the Create Post window.

Facebook mobile app
- Open the Facebook mobile app on your smartphone or tablet.
- At the top of the app screen, look for the words “What’s on your mind?” in a text box. Tap on that text box.
- A Create Post screen will open. Tap on the screen where you see the grey colored “What’s on your mind?” words and the on-screen keyboard will open.
- Type your post in the text box.
- To create the post on your Facebook page, click the Share link at the top-right of the Create Post screen.
How to comment on a friend’s post
You can comment on a friend’s post by using either the Facebook website or the Facebook mobile app.
Facebook website
- Log in to the Facebook website at https://www.facebook.com.
- Find your friend’s post.
- Below the post, look for and click the Comment option, located between the “Like” and “Share” options.
